Just When You Thought You’d Seen It All… (Deja Vu edition)

you find something like *THIS*:

President Obama finally and quietly accepted his “transparency” award from the open government community this week — in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House on Monday.

The secret presentation happened almost two weeks after the White House inexplicably postponed the ceremony, which was expected to be open to the press pool.

This time, Obama met quietly in the Oval Office with Gary Bass of OMB Watch, Tom Blanton of the National Security Archive, Danielle Brian of the Project on Government Oversight, Lucy Dalglish of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and Patrice McDermott of OpenTheGovernment.org, without disclosing the meeting on his public schedule or letting photographers or print reporters into the room.
“Our understanding going into the meeting was that it would have a pool photographer and a print reporter, and it turned out to be a private meeting,” Bass told POLITICO. “He was so on point, so on target in the conversation with us, it is baffling why he would not want that message to be more broadly heard by reporters and the public interest community and the public generally.”

I don’t know if irony is dead, but it sure seems to be on life-support…

  1. Plainvillian says:

This administration is Vuja De, – the reciprocal of Deja Vu – no one has ever experienced anything like this before.   We are doomed.

  2. While it may look secret, he does win the award for transparency; he is about as visible as anyone can get as a tyrant dictator; he cannot hide his agenda, no matter how hard he tries. It is his ego that is hiding it from himself; he runs about doing as he pleases, abusing citizens, abusing the Constitution; we can see it quietly clearly, apparently he thinks no one notices. I dare say, he is about to meet with citizens upon the White House steps as Nero met the Roman citizens. Surprise, Mr. Obama.

George Orwell once wrote, "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

Now we can add "Transparency is opacity" by Øbama.

When is he going to be bestowed with the Heisman Trophy or the America's Cup?

It's time the American people gave this guy the boot. We certainly aren't getting our money's worth out of this clown, and I wouldn't trust his handlers with a box of rocks. This Administration is 'The Gong Show' all over again!

  5. edwardinct says:

THE SCARY THING ABOUT THIS GUY IS THAT THE IDIOTS THAT ELECTED HIM WOULD REELECT HIM

There was a good reason why press was not allowed in…..
