I made decisions based on victory

When you’re President, W tells Candy Crowley, there are no do-overs. In a one on one with Candy Crowley at CNN, the President says he never doubted the decision to go to war but he did wonder if they would win.

Victory, he told her, governed his decisssions even when he was told that politically it would have been better to leave.

Crowley asks President Bush to repond to Karl Rove’s assertion that we would not have gone to war had we known there were no WMD’s.

I liked the interview. I thought the President was candid about the war and WMDs and I though it instructive too for our incoming President as well. When you are President there are no do overs. Indeed, it’s a lonly job.
