Probably the best and easily the funniest part of Tom Brokaw’s interview with Laura Bush. Funny because of the unbridled enthusiasm in Brokaw’s voice as he talks about Obama … and the First Lady’s very calm and measured response. Tom Brokaw to Laura Bush “Did you see a President when you first met him?” Laura Bush to Brokaw, “What?”. Tom was so excited talking about Obama and Mrs Bush just burst his bubble. I love the First Lady, Video below fold.

and what did you think of the election? What? What does Tom think … the First Lady voted for Obama or was happy McCain lost? Oh what the heck, in Tom’s world everyone voted for Obama, why wouldn’t he expect Laura Bush to also.

So, your quotes above must be from a different video clip than one you had available. It'd be interesting to see the one that you reference, if you get a chance to post it.

I think Jim is just paraphrasing what Laura said in a more polite pc way . I think the first lady is just counting the days till they are out of D.C.

And wasn't Brokaw one of the guys who said he really didn't know Obama? Could he be suffering from "tingly leg syndrome"?
