A little global warming on the Sound Off Deck. It measures just under a foot. OK … working hard getting the house ready for the Sound Off daughter’s wedding so the posts will be fewer by me until its all done. But I just can’t stay away.

What has not been proven is the direct correlation to CO2 or man. The debate is only over for politicians looking to use this as a way to change behavior and of course tax people and business. I am a conservationist! Just not an alarmist. Drive less, save more, waste less … do it because it makes sense not because you think you can stop the world from changing. You can’t.

There is no evidence that CO2 drives world temperatures or any consequent climate change,” Imperial College London astrophysicist and long-range forecaster Piers Corbyn wrote British Members of Parliament on Oct. 28. “According to official data in every year since 1998, world temperatures have been colder than that year, yet CO2 has been rising rapidly.” That evening, as the House of Commons debated legislation on so-called “global-warming,” October snow fell in London for the first time since 1922.

OK let’s tally this … politicians … global warming … scientists … umm not so much.
Interestingly enough the left wing “Media Matters”, blasts this video from Lou Dobbs for questioning global warming (RE: excuse to tax and spend)
… and points to last year’s IPCC which blames global warming or as they call it now “climate change” on CO2. But Media Matters falls into the same trap because the IPCC is comprised of primarily of government officials, not scientists … and fails to mention this report from IPCC scientists.
Dr. Richard S. Courtney, a climate and atmospheric science consultant and a UN IPCC expert reviewer ridiculed the AP article. “Rarely have I read such a collection of unsubstantiated and scare-mongering twaddle. Not only do real studies show no increase to rate of sea level change, the [AP] article gives reasons for concern that are nonsense,” Courtney told Inhofe EPW Press Blog on September 23.

You gotta love the liberals. If you actually read the IPCC report and the NYTimes distillation of same, you will see all the "weasel" words that are a scientist's way of, well, CYA. Trust me, I know.
They also do not mention the growing list of scientists (see one of your earlier stories) that dispute the "overwhelming evidence" and "consensus" of the AGW worshippers.
They quote the NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies:
"Finally, we note that we provide the rank of global temperature for individual years because there is a high demand for it from journalists and the public. The rank has scientific significance in some cases, e.g., when a new record is established. However, otherwise rank has limited value and can be misleading. Note that, given our estimated error bar in Figure 1, we can only say that 2008 probably ranks as somewhere between the 7th and 12th warmest year."
Note the phrase "rank has limited value and can be misleading."
What don't they say? That there is any correlation between man's activities and climate change. In fact, the effects of the sun, or any cause other than El Nino and La Nina, are mentioned as causes for the temperature changes.
Bottom line: they are disingenuously using the Goddard Center and scientific papers that nobody is seriously going to analyze, least of all the press, to reinforce their anti CO2 religion.
So called AGW is a scam designed to allow more social engineering by the liberals paid for by the rich nations of the world, particularly the U.S.

Saturday night, and it we still have light snow in West Hartford. Watching NBC30 right now and Ryan Hanrahan is forecasting more snow tonight and tomorrow. "Significant accumulations expected inland" – I wonder what that means. Guesstimates of 3 to 5 inches in Hartford area – more to the north and west.
I am sure glad that I bought a gasoline powered snow blower two or three years ago. Obama will probably ban those as well – you know, those emissions!
