On This Week liberal stateist economist Robert Reich contends the reason we need health care (or is it health insurance?) reform is because the American people just don’t understand health insurance. That’s enough to set the normally calm George Will off.The battle lines are drawn when Will contends allowing insurance companies to compete across state lines will immediately bring down premiums, and then has the line of the morning. So easy a caveman can do it?

Maybe so, but not the American people, explains Reich. Insurance companies are evil, and without government control and mandates (i.e. the Federal Government deciding what kind of insurance we all should have) the insurance companies will just dupe us.

That’s right we are too dumb to understand health insurance but not too dumb to pay taxes. This health care bill is a tax bill they need to pass it to pay down the debt.
Mr. Reich is just adding fuel to the fire with these comments.
