Call Me If You Need Me

Update: Here’s a good round-up and timeline of the whole thing … via HotAir.

This, in my humble opinion, is Obama’s “deer in the headlights moment”. Obama responding to McCain’s stunning announcement that he intends to suspend his campaign to head to Washington to help with the bailout legislation. Obama told a presser:

  • He’s working round the clock on the crisis
  • Talks with Congressional leaders everyday
  • Calls the Treasury Secretary “Hank”
  • He’s a multi-tasker
  • Call me if you need anything else
  • Update: Oh yeah … he will be debating

Not exactly what I want to hear from the President. But then again maybe I am wrong. My general take on the presser … he seemed lost and sincerely stunned by McCain’s actions and not sure what he should be doing. Otherwise how do you explain a comment like this.

and here’s my other favorite quote … I didn’t know he could be so decissive. Sounds Presidential don’t ya think?

This is disturbing on several fronts. One, the American people want decisiveness in a time of crisis and Obama looks lost. Second, if he could so easily misread a man he has served with in Congress over the last three years, how will he ever be able to read Putin or Ahmadinejad?

Update: If you are looking for some analysis as to who went first and who said what … I am gunna pass. Too high school for me.
