Brokaw: Here’s a great idea, let’s be more like Oregon’s medical system

This ranks right up there with Brokaw begging the President to raise gas prices. Speaking on Meet the Press, the debate turned to why Americans are so against Obamacare. Doris Kearns Goodwin thinks most Americans haven’t read it and thus are afraid of it, but once it’s passed, they will love it.Howdy to Hot Air readers … thanks for stopping by.

Of course none of that is true, but Tom Brokaw’s analysis is even scarier. He blames Medicare cuts in the bill as one reason people are fearful, and he’s right. But then he adds that rather than cut medicare, we just to need to re-prioritize spending … like in Oregon. I kid you not, he said Oregon.

I like the little quip for Ms Goodwin, except when we’re old. She gets it, but Tom doesn’t. So here’s a gentle nudge for Tom, the story of Barbara Wagner from KVAL-TV, whose fight against cancer brought her right up against that famed Oregon system.

Barbara eventually got her drug (from the drug company) and has since passed. But the question remains, do you really want to turn over health care decisions to a bureaucrat who is making a determination based on how much money is in the pool. If Tom is willing to accept that, I’ll reconsider, but my guess is, he wouldn’t.

"Doris Kearns Goodwin thinks most Americans haven’t read it and thus are afraid of it, but once it’s passed, they will love it" – It sounds like she's assuming that the elected officials who VOTED for it did read it!  I think not.

Poor Mr. Brokow is just plain out of touch with regular folk and so into the "intellectual elitist" way of thinking.  He, of course, can afford to make lofty pronouncements about what the rest of us need.

I have two words for Brokaw, and they aren't "Happy Birthday!".

Well, the second two words would be "after you".

And Goodwin the plagiarizer should just shut her socialist pie hole.  (I know, don't sugarcoat it…..).

Health Care Transparency: CSPAN should televise the front of the closed hearing door. Other networks are sure to pick up the feed and broadcast during the news cycle. Ridicule is one of our few tools.

Tom Brokow needs to pack his L .. L ..Leather brief case and fly to L … L .. L ..illihammer to have his L .. L .. Liver examined if he likes  Nazi healthcare so much. I believe there are still a few students of Dr Megele  practicing medicine in Norway.
