Blumenthal on how jobs are created: I’m not going to DC to be an entrepreneur – UPDATE: Blumenthal’s Beauty Pageant Moment

Not the only sign of the great divide between the people and the power, but one of the best. Hey small business, I’m on your side even if I don’t know a thing about what you do.

Two sound bites for your viewing pleasure. The first, McMahon asks Blumenthal if he knows how to create a job. His answer, tax credits and law suits, what else? She challenges him and he responds with an answer that only be described as arrogant. Entrepreneurs … I ain’t going to DC to be an entrepreneur.

Set aside he has no idea how to create a job, and kudos for explaining the process to Blumy … but to top it off with why do I need to know how to create a job I’m going to DC to be a law maker, is arrogance every small business person should take note of. More laws, more controls, more government, is what you get with electing the AG.

UPDATE: My political advisor and mentor pointed this one out to me. He’s a knowledgeable guy, and I respect his insight, but to be honest, I never saw this one coming. He said the first thing that came to mind when he heard Blumy try to answer the jobs question, was this video. Too harsh? Nahhhh.

I thought Ed Morrissey’s take on this was pretty remarkable.

First a mommy job meets a daddy job, and then they share a “special hug.” That may have been more coherent than the rambling non-answer given by Richard Blumenthal during the Connecticut debate last night.  Linda McMahon directly challenged the lifetime public-sector official to describe how jobs get created, and Blumenthal showed that he clearly has no clue

Bite number two is just about as good. In case you did not know it … these are the good times. Happy Days are here again. setting up the bite, Blumenthal charges Linda laid workers off when she made money. She retorts … WWE has actually hired this year. Take it away Mr Blumenthal.

Good times? Out of touch.

Blumenthal has the potential of being a stalwart in the Senate. Someone should direct him to Teddy Roosevelt's Address at the Convention of the National Progressive Party in 1912. The following is in the first paragraph.

"The old parties are husks, with no real soul within either, divided on artificial lines, boss-ridden and privilege-controlled, each a jumble of incongruous elements, and neither daring to speak out wisely and fearlessly what should be said on the vital issues of the day. […] We propose boldly to face the real and great questions of the day, and not skillfully to evade them as do the old parties."

    The entire Address is at:

Have to say I had a hard time understanding what Blumenthal was trying to say at times in those clips.

Our AG made it abundantly clear that he has no empathy for the small-businessman, and is actively hostile to the larger corporations in CT. But I already knew that. He is a job destroyer – CT is well known to have one of the worst corporate climates in America. While Linda was not scintillating, or seemed all that smart, she won hands down as the one candidate with at least one foot firmly planted in reality. (I/m not giving her the other foot because she's too rich).

how is the WWE, a half billion dollar industry, considered a small business?

This the difference between someone that can make a buck, and some one who will take a buck.

AG Blumenthal has spent years making the business environment in CT more and more hostile, now he wants to share that with the rest of the country. Linda needs to hammer home the jobs angle, that should work even here in CT.

I thought Linda killed him with that question. Blumenthal had to go into his campaign mode and it made him look ridiculous. My local paper (Internet) The Torrington Register in the comment section is being bombarded with nasty comments about Linda McMahon.. So I wrote this comment. “Take a look at these comments. This is the DNC at work. If these comments don't totally disgust you then you had better figure out why. In other words they do this for a reason so it's up to each and every one of us to see it for what it is, otherwise it just might be working the way they want it to. Once you analyze the workings of this method of mass manipulation then it’s up to you to decide to reject this offensive approach of swaying the mind of the voter, and emphatically say I will not be a part of that. Just remember once they succeed, then it’s back to the same old, same old. Now those disgusting pieces of garbage are still telling us what to do. I urge you all to read these comments objectively, because they’re telling us who, and what they really are.”

I kinda feel sorry for him.  LOL  job creation = suing companies that threaten to move jobs out of state..

You mean "job creation = suing companies that threaten to move jobs out of state as a result of his party's anti business tax policies and the overall high cost of living in liberal 'utopias'…"
