Ben Shapiro takes on Piers Morgan on gun control (Full Video)

Last night, Ben Shapiro – editor-at-large of of the Breitbart.com group – took on CNN’s Piers Morgan on the gun control issue. Morgan really is a bully, refusing to have any sort of meaningful discussion with Shapiro, but that was not unexpected. I have not seen Shapiro in this type of role before, and I think he did a pretty good job.

Like former Gov. John Rowland (R-Conn.) does on a regular basis, Morgan elicits and gets the response he’s looking for. Shapiro reminds him the 2nd Amendment exists – and we should have access to semi-automatic rifles – to protect law-abiding United States citizens from government tyranny.

You could actually see Morgan roll his eyes on TV last night. I’ve reached out to the Breitbart editor to remind him there are many other very valid reasons for law-abiding citizens to have access to semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.

Notice how Morgan completely forgets about the single most deadly shooting by one gunman in our history? The Virginia Tech massacre was perpetrated by someone who illegally purchased two handguns while breaking federal law.

This is the full interview … I would not be surprised if it is soon pulled.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the guns used in the Sandy Hook shootings were two hand guns and the assult rifle was left in the car.? If thats so its still just as trajic.? It just under my skin when I heard Piers asked if an assult weapon was used at sandy hook, and one wasn’t.? But he still uses it to farther his argument that assult rifles are dangerous but pistols are ok.?

No, the Bushmaster semi-automatic rifle was used to gain access to the building and shoot the innocent kids. He used a 10mm Glock handgun to off himself. He also carried a SIG Sauer 9mm. The shotgun was left in the car. This is from the preliminary reports of course. There was a news items on the first day that suggested the Bushmaster was left in the car, and that does not seem to be the case.

“Peers” Morgan: condescending, superior, smug elitist.
What is this fop doing here? Who even watches this dandy? Was he deported from England?
Morgan shrugged off Shapiro’s points. He hasn’t read and understood the Constitution. It’s inconvenient for him. Worse, he maneuvered Shapiro into a corner that Morgan defined for him and did the old soft-shoe tap back and said, in effect, “Behold! There is the whack-o position of the Right . . . ” Old debate trick.

Morgan is the perfect liberal media tool:? “how dare you accuse me of what I am clearly doing?”? He would like nothing better than to take all guns, but he knows that is not going to fly.? He gets all high and mighty while ignoring the facts of the cases.? The “preferred weapon of choice” is really handguns, and Morgan would not acknowledge that to Shapiro, because this “reporter” would make this the next target after the “big, scary so called assault rifles” were gone.? It is playbook liberal incrementalism.? He really got his knickers in a snit when Shapiro made it a “right/left” arguments.
    ?
The problem is this: laws only apply punishments after the fact.? For those so deranged that the feel they have nothing to lose and are fully prepared to kill themselves, laws mean nothing.? The only way to stop gun crime is action, not reaction.

I watched that again, and I have to say that Shapiro was superb, when he could get a word in.

morgan is an effete alien.? if the uk is so fine, why is he here?? opinion does not a citizen make–moreover, it’s not his right, so not his fight.? his ‘activism’ is creating a public safety hazard.? why even give him the bully pulpit?? cnn should be labeled a terrorist organization and served the accordant ‘sanctions’.

Well said. As CNN is a business, I vote with my feet, well, clicker, and refuse to watch and listen to it. Whatever advertising I may see on CNN while I am at the gym, I will not buy from that advertiser or use those services.

It has become a code in conversation to let others know you are a conservative by saying, ” I only watch FOX if I watch any television.”
Socialist Carl Sandburg, poet, called television, “the idiot box.”

Don’t forget that other foreign undesirable, Martin Bashir.

Ben Shapiro is a true patriot. He has done, what I hope Conservatives will do more and more. He is taking a strong, reasonable argument to the “peeps”. He does not get into a screaming match, he defends his position. It is easy for conservatives to bring their position on issues to a conservative show. It is courageous to bring their positions on a shoe with an elitist, pompous, and sneering host. Ben Shapiro defined Morgan as a Bully and it fit.

The answer Piers needed to hear is this:? At the time of conception, a person has the human right and responsibility to protect him/herself.? Protection against?the evil side of the eternal battle of good and evil.? That protection needs to meet and defeat the threat that presents itself.? In other words, by any means necessary.??
So let’s focus on defeating the bad guys and?lowering the threat level. Then the need to meet a threat?goes down.? But the available options should never be decreased.?? And remember, limiting a?good guy’s options will only embolden the bad guys.

    • Dimsdale on January 13, 2013 at 1:16 pm

I like that: limiting the options for good guys only increases the options for criminals.
      ?
Commonsense the liberals will never understand.
